Thirsties Swim Diaper
If you know anything about me and my little, you know we love water. We love going to the swimming pool, splash pad, and playing outside in our sprinkler. Buying disposable swim diapers can be expensive especially if you are as active in the water as we are! We have used disposables a few times, but quickly made the switch to reusable swim diapers and I am so glad we did!
We save soo much money using reusable swim diapers. A pack of disposable diapers costs you around $10. We would easily use that pack up in a week and we would have to buy more! This swim diaper is only $14. That’s. It.
I recommend getting about 3-4 swim diapers just so you always have some ready for pool days. That will cost you a little over what it would cost for 4 weeks of disposables (for me anyways, we swim a lot.)
Let’s face it, disposables aren’t all that great and the styles is pretty blah/borderline yuck. Thirsties Swim Diapers have some cool designs! I love our pink and blue whale diaper! This is actually the first brand I have found that has a girl print and has snaps on each side.
Unlike disposables that pull on or reusables that only have one side snap, Thirsties swim diapers snap on super easy on BOTH sides. I love this because when there is a code brown, I don’t have to deal with the poo touching her leg as I pull off the disposable diaper. Same with reusable diapers that only have one side snap, it makes it just a little bit easier but you still have to pull it down around their other leg. It’s not easy.
You may be instantly thinking “oh, cloth diapers. They will be soo bulky.” This is a super trim little diaper. If you cloth diaper on a regular basis, think diaper cover. I can easily fit her swim bottoms on over it. Better yet, I sometimes just use the swim diaper as bottoms because the print is so cute!
This swim diaper has waist and rise snaps allowing to adjust to make the perfect fit for your little swimmer. 🤗 Thirsties swim diapers come in two sizes: Size 1 fits approximately 6 to 18 pounds and Size 2 that fits babies 18 to 40 pounds.
Although you have to decide which size to buy and may need to buy some in both sizes, that’s a long time and a lot of use to get out of a swim diaper.
I love it! The snaps are easy to use. If you are new to cloth diapering, it won’t take you too long to figure this out. I promise.
Also, I would like to add: just because you don’t cloth diaper on a daily basis does NOT mean you can’t use these. They aren’t as difficult as cloth diapering daily as you only have the occassional load to clean. As far as cleaning goes, I recommend just hosing off any poo and throwing it in the wash like normal. If it’s just pee, I just rinse it off. It’s that easy, I promise!
Overall, I am really pleased with our Thirsties swim diapers. I love the girly print for my little one and the money I am saving. I highly recommend!!
