Baltic Essentials

We have fallen in love with our matching Baltic Essentials bracelets and necklaces.  We each have Baltic Amber Polished Lemon Amethyst Bracelets and Isla has her very own Lemon Amethyst necklace. The Baltic Amber is known to have soothing properties and help relieve teething pain, inflammation, redness, and more. The Amethyst is a whammy of a gemstone and provides so much relief whether it be stress, irritability, mood swings –hello, pregnancy hormones AND terrible two’s!– so basically this stone was designed for me and my daughter! 😉 I am only kind of kidding…

The infant bracelet is 5.5-6 inches. The only thing that stinks about this is that she can easily take it off (and does so frequently). She can’t undo the twist clasp but can just slide it right off. I tried to see if it would fit her ankle but it was too short for that. She does like to wear her bracelets but I make sure I am ALWAYS tending to her while she has them. Anytime you have a little one with jewelry, you should be very cautious and supervise anyways so this isn’t a huge deal but she doesn’t wear her bracelets religiously due to this. That is the biggest con with the bracelets is that they are much easier to access and it is so important that they do not chew on them as they are a choking hazard. If you can get it to fit their ankle, that may be a good option and makes it less accessible. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS supervise while they are wearing these-especially the bracelets.

What she does wear ALL the time is her necklace. The necklace is 12.5 inches long and is the perfect size for her. It has a twist clasp on it just like the infant bracelet does but unlike the bracelet, she can’t get this one off. I think with it being around her neck, she completely forgets it is even there. So far, our baltic amber hasn’t been some miracle worker but I do think it is helping. We haven’t had some radical transformation overnight with zero episodes of crying but I do believe it has reduced a lot of pain my toddler is experiencing.

She is 20 months and is currently cutting 4 teeth. You wouldn’t really know it unless you looked inside and saw those canines coming through (OUCH!). I truly believe her limited amount of fussiness can be attributed to this necklace. 🙂 Honestly, even if it wasn’t doing any good (which I think it is-it’s just really difficult to measure something like this in terms of success) it’s gorgeous. If nothing else, these bracelets and necklaces are super stylish and I love the pop of color. I am always surprised how many compliments I get and how many people assume I just put it on her because it’s cute. 🙂

The baltic amber works in that it releases small amounts of it’s natural oil, as it warms with the body’s natural temperature, that is absorbed into the skin and bloodstream.  Baltic Amber contains succinic acid which is known for treating inflammation and fever. I figure it nothing else, it’s worth a try. 🙂 It’s such a small amount that you do not need to worry about your kiddo. I was super skeptical at first but think it has made a difference during these last few weeks!

The necklace is $28 for size 11 inch which should fit most newborns-1 year olds and is $30 for the 12.5 inch one that should fit 1-5 year olds. They also sell extenders to make it longer if needed. It is important to measure to get the right fit for your little.

The bracelet is $15 and says it is for newborn, baby, and toddler. My daughter is average (50%tile) and 20 months and the bracelets slid off but didn’t fit her ankle. Keep this in mind and if you have any questions, feel free to contact Baltic  Essentials for recommendations on sizing and what would be best. Their customer support is AMAZING! 🙂

If mom is feeling left out, they even have this in a stretchy bracelet for us. Because kiddos aren’t the only ones who need soothing bracelets. I think mine has contributed to my lack of aches in pains in the third trimester of my pregnancy. I wear mine daily and noticed a difference (I don’t think it was a coincidence!) soon after. I have much less swelling in my feet and less round ligament pain that I believe could be due to wearing my bracelet.

Overall, I really like these. I think it’s definitely worth a shot. Worst case: they don’t work for you but they are pretty jewelry. Worth it in my book!
