Kid Curated Books- Big Sibling Gift Box
Kid Curated Books is a subscription box geared towards exciting children about reading! As an educator and someone who just LOVES reading and all of the possibilities that come while reading a good book, I fell in love with this subscription box and will definitely be ordering some more.
In order to get started with your box, you simply answer a few questions about your child’s interests so that they can pick books out geared specifically towards YOUR child. I love it! As a busy mom, I love that this saves time and someone else is searching for books for my daughter. Plus, the books that came in our box were books that I hadn’t actually read or owned (which says a lot as a previous Kindergarten teacher!). The books were definitely more unique picks but were absolutely adorable.
The books are random in the sense that some are best sellers, others are lesser known titles, and some classics. For example, my book came with a story by the famous Mercer Mayer though I hadn’t read this specific book. Another book was “Julius-the baby of the world” which had the well known “Lilly” from “Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse”. The other two were by authors I had never heard of but I loved each and every one of them. I hope this answers some questions about the variety!
My box was specifically geared towards “Big Sibling” and helping your little one adjust to a new baby in the house. The story about Julius was hilarious and focused on understanding those big feelings of being angry that the new baby is so demanding. The book “You Were the First” explained how though there is another baby, our love for you will never change. I love that each of these books will help my daughter navigate some big feelings she may feel while going through this big transition.
Each box includes 3-4 books. If you continue with your subscription, they request that you leave feedback so each month they can continue to tailor the box to meet your child’s interests! Totally cool!!
Books are always sent out on the 15th of each month but you must sign up by the 5th. If you would like to purchase another box for a second kiddo, they offer a 15% discount!
The best part: If you receive a book you already own, you simply have to take a photo of yourself donating the book to a library and they will refund you $5 to your account!! I love that they do this so you still have the option of surprise without having to worry about getting doubles of every book and being stuck with them. Plus, giving back is always cool.
Overall, we loved our subscription box! It came with 4 books and a t-shirt. This box was such a cute idea for any big sibling that I highly recommend you look into buying one! They also make pre-set boxes you can give for gifts. Some of those options are for baby showers, holidays, or just anytime gifts!
