Nursing Bras & Loving Your Postpartum Body

DSC_0691

One of the hardest things to deal with post partum are those emotions you go through. One of those huge ones for me was not liking what I saw in the mirror. To go with that, I wasn’t loving my postpartum body and I was TIRED of having to make sure everything revolved around nursing. Specifically bras.

I couldn’t ever find a bra that made me feel beautiful. I just figured “someday” I will get to wear nice bras that didn’t flatten my boobs. But I always had this weird feeling of resenting breastfeeding because it affected my wardrobe, thus, really having a huge impact on how I felt about myself.

I never once felt sexy in any of my nursing bras. Never. Every once in a while I would venture out and dig out my old Victoria’s Secret bras but I could never wear those for too long because they weren’t comfortable or practical.

I am so so so glad to have found a nursing bra that not only makes me feel sexy, but is completely practical. I cannot express how much I love my nursing bra from Cake Maternity.

This bra I am showing is the Waffles Contour Nursing Bra. While I haven’t used it nursing yet, I have been using it with my ever-growing breasts. It has been so comfortable and gives me enough lift to not feel like I am just wearing a boring maternity bra.

I have played around with the drop down cups for feeding and the hook is so easy to use. I can easily do it one handed so I know I will have ZERO issues breastfeeding my baby boy when he gets here!

The beautiful satin trim and lace detail truly gives it that extra oomph that makes you feel gorgeous. I really could have used this my last pregnancy/post partum. It’s amazing how much of a difference this can have!

The wires are flexible and do not jab! With postpartum and pregnancy comes a lot of body changes. I love that I don’t have to worry about being stabbed by a wire or feeling like I am suffocating. It feels like the bra has molded to your shape. It has a lot of give on the back with 4 different side hooks to adjust the width of your bra. This is perfect again for mamas that are going through pregnancy or slowly losing that baby weight.

One of my least favorite features of nursing bras were how high up they went. Thinking about wearing a V-neck?? Nope. Think again. It was so embarrassing. Not only was I having to not wear bras that made me feel pretty, it affected what other clothes I was wearing as well.

You don’t have to worry about this at all with this bra. The low V-neck style gives enough modesty and coverage yet allows you the luxury of wearing some V-necks and lower style tops.

I seriously could go on and on about this bra but I’ll stop here. It’s $65. Which seems like a lot but you won’t regret it. Finding a bra that makes you truly feel beautiful and gives you a little more boost on your way to loving your postpartum/pregnant body is 110% worth it in my books. You can find your’s here!

While I received this bra for free in exchange for this review, all opinions are my own.
