Preparing for Baby: Monbaby Monitor
SPONSORED POST: This product was sent to me for free in exchange for sharing with my readers!
Our second baby is due early July so we are slowly getting the rest of the things we need for his arrival. With our daughter being not quite two, those nights filled with anxiety as I worried about her breathing are fresh in my mind. I remember jolting wide awake to check that she hadn’t rolled over and was still breathing over night.
Sleep is already limited as it is with a newborn but when you throw that into the mix, it’s disruptive for everyone. With the Monbaby Monitor, it should help eliminate that anxiety I (and many other parents) face with their little ones.
The Monbaby smart button snaps easily onto any onesie or pajama. Originally, I was really skeptical because my mind immediately thought it was either: A) A pin button (talk about dangerous) or B) a sleep suit with button attached. Luckily, it is neither of those things. The simple snap ensures that it won’t pinch your babe and it can be used as your child grows because it fits any sized clothing. It can even be used as your kiddo is older and beginning to walk to let you know if they fall! How cool!
I received mine for free to share some more info with my readers. But, they are originally $99.99. Monbaby generously offers a $30 discount with code “ihelpmoms” You can buy yours directly from their website: www.monbaby.com and get it for only $70! What a steal when you consider the other baby sleep monitors out on the market.
The Monbaby works in that it clips to their onesie and tracks baby’s sleep position(AAP recommends back sleeping), breathing, and proximity(hospital stay). It connects directly to your smartphone/tablet through wifi and their personal app. It will alert you if there was no breathing movement detected for 15 seconds, when baby rolls onto their stomach while sleeping, or if baby has fallen. While it doesn’t replace parenting, it is definitely an awesome tool for parents!
One of the great things about this monitor: no wires OR daily charging is needed. The monitor will alert you when it is about time to replace the battery. It is a simple watch battery. According to their site, the battery lasts approximately 4 weeks under typical usage. It stinks that it doesn’t last too terribly long BUT you can get a pack of 4 for under $7 so that isn’t too big of a concern of mine. I am really looking forward to using our’s!
As far as proximity goes: the Monbaby range is up to 35-40 feet in the line of sight. We plan on having our baby boy sleeping in our room in his pack n’ play, so this isn’t a concern of ours.
Overall, I am super pumped about the simplicity of this monitor and the cool features it has. I look forward to using it with our sweet boy when he makes his arrival! 😍
