Toys That Teach- Safari Ltd.
It is so fun to be at a stage in life now where I can sit and watch my daughter’s imagination soar! She LOVES playing with baby dolls so I was super excited when Safari Ltd. agreed to send us a few of their toys for review. As you can see, little miss is SUPER into them. 🙂
Like for real, all the heart eyes. This couldn’t have been more perfect timing either. I am 35 weeks preggo with baby #2 and feel HUGE. I started to have early contractions so I am taking it easy on the couch. But no worries, she has her own toys that encourage her independent playing so mama can rest.
I love the awesome resources on safariltd.com as well to help us understand our children better. As an educator, I know the importance of learning through play. It’s really neat to see a company that values that and lays out each stage of developmental play and explains how their toys are there every step of the way!
Currently my daughter is at the solitary play stage. She is almost 2 now. With it being summer and me deciding to stay home, it’s been really important for us to understand it’s okay to not be entertained by her many daycare friends. It is SO important for kids to learn to keep themselves busy and entertained.
Side note mamas: for you stay at home moms that feel guilty about not entertaining your kids 24/7, KNOW THAT IT IS HEALTHY FOR THEM! and you. You still love your kids but mama needs a break and your little needs to learn independence. End rant 😉

I just think that is so cool. Probably my favorite part of Safari Ltd. Toys is their mission of teaching children but besides that, they are so stinkin’ adorable!
Did you know, each toy is hand sculpted AND painted. I actually came across these for the first time at Mommycon Chicago 2018 and was so bummed I didn’t pick any up! I couldn’t believe how life-like they look. My daughter’s personal fave right now is the turtle. 🙂
Besides the independent play aspect, she is learning a lot. We were also sent a little book with the different toys that they carry and she is constantly asking which animal/figurine it is. It’s super cool because she is learning Hey, there’s not just “birds”, there’s specific birds like owls, penguins, turkeys, etc… and they all have different characteristics. It’s so fun to watch her when she is amazed at a new animal. Plus, she is a sponge at this age so it is really awesome to learn so much through play.
