SoftBums Echo Shell

DSC_0451

This cloth diaper is very similar to their Omni cloth diaper. The two most notable differences are: no pocket, it’s just an all in 2 and it fits smaller than the Omni. It still fits 0-36 month olds but it is trimmer and has less coverage than the Omni. Where the Omni fits best for 4 month olds and up, the Echo fits best for Newborns. This is the ideal diaper for those with smaller babies!

Just like with the Omni cloth diaper, instead of dealing with a bunch of snaps, they have a drawstring toggle used for rise sizing instead! This size toggle is amazing because it guarantees a true fit meaning no leaks. You can use the Echo for as little as a 4lb baby all the way to a 36 month old! That’s incredible.

The waist setting is attached with a velcro hook & loop closure. The velcro overlaps to provide a tight fit if needed. The velcro is very strong and will hold for a long time. I actually have to use a little strength to undo it because it is on so good!

Since this is an all in 2, you do need to buy a pod (their version of an insert). It just snaps right in. These are unfortunately sold separately but you can buy one for under $5. These are nice because there is no pocket to stuff it in. You simply lay the insert flat on top and snap in. Easy peezy.

Just like the Omni, the Echo are made in the U.S.A. This cloth diaper is also super super soft and really absorbant. The fit is perfect and it’s not crazy bulky. This diaper is actually a little trimmer than the Omni diaper. I love the choices of prints! There are a variety of solids OR prints that are super fun to choose from in either Omni or Echo.

They are a little bit on the priceyhigh end of what I like to spend on a cloth diaper for just under $22 for the diaper. Unfortunately, the pods are sold seperately. If you were to just buy one of the large dry touch pods it’s another $5. That’s roughly $27/diaper.

If I had to pick Omni or Echo, I think I would go with Echo because they are best for newborns. I love the idea of getting as much use out of the cloth diapers as I possible can. I love that they can fit a 4 lb baby well (I haven’t tested it yet but can’t wait to eventually) AND that it can grow with them. I think it would be fun to see a side by side photo of a baby using the same diaper from newborn to 1, 2, or even 3 years old! Soooo cool! I highly recommend these!
